Beauty essentials for traveling
My skin has never been perfect but with the help of a few of my favorite products I have managed to keep it at its best possible condition. Having blonde hair and a fair complexion has led to some challenges; especially when I am travelling to warm and sunny places. Although sometimes it has been difficult protecting my hair and skin, I have a go-to list of beauty products that make life in the sun easier. This list includes the inexpensive products I use on a regular basis along with the products I let my self indulge in. Because let’s face it, our hair and skin are a lifelong investment!
I bring it with me everywhere I travel to and I don’t use any other type of moisturizer. Whether I'm out in the sun all day or drying off after a shower, its great for hydrating the skin. I lather myself in it day and night.
Batiste Dry Shampoo
This is the most inexpensive dry shampoo and the best of them all! I love the XXL volume one as it’s great for all the thin haired sisters out there like moi!
Bumble and Bumble Hairdressers Invisible oil
It’s a heat protection serum that is magical! I would say this oil is a bit more on the pricey side, (approximately $50) but it lasts me around 6 months even with everyday application. A little bit of this stuff goes along way!
Alterna Repair Caviar X Haircare line
This was first introduced to me by my amazing hair dresser and it is heavens touch to colour treated, or any kind of damaged hair. I bought the mini set of shampoo, conditioner and protein cream (which is amazing) after my hair was treated for colour and since then, my hair hasn’t felt healthier.
Becca Ever-Matte Poreless Priming Perfector
If you have oily skin like me don’t stress. It means we’re going to look younger when we’re older, so my mom says anyways! But for now, to minimize my oily skin, I use this primer — especially when I need to keep the oil at bay for my 8+ hour shifts at work.
The flat brush by Bumble and Bumble
After being introduced to this life changer by my friend I can’t live without it. No matter where I go my wonder brush comes with me! It’s an investment for sure as it’s priced at 100$. But still I’d say it’s worth every penny. The ultra-fine bristles help bring the natural oils from the top of your scalp to the bottom strands. As more time goes on, the more valuable your brush becomes with the added power house of the natural oils building up between the bristles. On windy days after a few strokes I without a doubt have the nicest hair on a patio.
Chopper Eye Shadow Urban Decay
It’s my favourite shade of eye shadow all year around but for summer it looks the best! The perfect hues of warmth you desire are great for everyday wear or for a fun night out.
Sebastian Plus Extra Hold Hair Spray
My mom’s ultimate secret to her voluminous hair. I’ve tried the $30 bottles and this one sold at pharmacies for $18 is literally the best stuff and the spout never gets clogged. My hair will stay in place all damn day!
Microfiber face cloth
This cloth is ideal for acne prone or oily skin like mine! The smooth texture of the cloth cleans out all the excess debris and oils from underneath my pores without irritating or over exfoliating my face. I bring this cloth with me everywhere I go! Whether it’s on the road or to a sleep over I won’t forget it.
Stila HUGE Extreme Lash Mascara
I’ve had a lot of different favourite mascaras over the years but this one is my go to. It doesn’t get chunky and manages to get the tip of every lash. The coverage is amazing!
tarteist™ creamy matte lip paint
I love the life length of this lip stick it lasts so long without that cakey lip line that can happen with long wear of lip products. My favourite colour is Get it! it's the perfect shade for summer with vibarant hues of light coral.
